Please help! Windows Xp won't load when I turn on my computer. What could be the problem?

I'm running windows xp. A couple of nights ago, my computer restarted on its own a few times. Each time that windows reloaded, a pop up message appeared on the screen saying "The system has just recovered from a serious error."

Anyway, the last time that the computer restarted on its own, this is what appeared on my monitor when I turned on my computer:

I cannot do anything -- I can't press the Enter key or anything. I can't access Safe Mode or anything. All I can do is turn off the computer.

What could have caused this problem? A virus maybe?

And how can I fix my computer?

  1. Did you recently add new hardware to your computer?

I had one do something similar, not as bad as yours but similar, and it was the video card I had put in the computer.  Soon as I removed the new video card it worked fine again.
