I am trying to get a ice skating rink builted in my area (handly) because my nearest rinks are 40mins to an hour away. And my mum says it would be to differcult and exspensive to be going down there 6 times a week. I know ice skating is an exspensive sport but I love it so much it's my dream. But my mum doesn't see it. I have already wrote a letter to my council but they haven't replied yet. Has anyone else got any ideas or sujestions in which I can persuade my council to build a rink in my area. Cheshire/stoke, Congleton, Handly, Newcastle.

  1. Why not try getting the local newspaper and local radio interested?  You could write an article/letter for the paper and phone the radio.  Get a group of like minded friends  together if the radio shows interest, to make an interesting interview.

    Good luck.

  2. go and see the council its scary but cmon its u dream isn't it and u would do it for tht wouldn't u? i leave tht up 2 u....................

  3. you could start a petition and do some fundraising to start off the costs of it since it'll probably be really expensive

  4. start a petition!

write a formal letter to the council!

get loads of people involved if you feel so strongly about it :)
