Please help before I throw my DVD player out the window?

Question

My DVD player has been acting up recently, it won't play any DVD's and is always making a loud, grinding noise. Every time I put a DVD in it, it won't play it, I checked the DVD for smudges, scractches ect and its fine, so why is my DVD player doing this?

Its region free by the way.

Please help.

Sounds like the motor might or is going out on you. Does the player have plenty of breatjing room, surrounded by clutter and wires, if so try to clean up the area and get some ventilation in there. the motor going out can be caused by not having any good air circulation
