i recently received a fertile chicken egg,and it has been doing just fine in the incubator and its around the 12th day. so today when my fiance was going to turn the egg he accidentally dropped it and cracked it pretty badly. I have tried to cover the cracked area. but I am wondering if my egg will survive! I really hope he didn't kill it. any help would be appreciated.

  1. sorry, if the fall didnt kill it the bacteria that will get through the cracks will definetly will, but just in case, just keep the egg in there for a little bit longer and c if it works, the crack cnt be that bad...u dddnt drop it from a two storey house did you??

  2. I would need to see the egg to see if it would die or not. But 12 days os really young. So maybe. i had one at about the same age, adn the mama stepped on it, and broke it about halfway open, and you could see the little chick, and watch it breath and everything. It was sad. It didnt make it. But if the egg is not open, just cracked it might survive. Make sure that you put something on it, so that air does not get in.

But then the chicks actually breath though the egg, so not tape or anything. goodluck

  3. I have seen on television were scientists were cutting holes in eggs to do experiments with the genes of chickens to try creating a dinosaurs.  I didn't agree with the experiment, but this means you may have a chance.  I did some fast research and found a good answer to a question similar to yours surprisingly on yahoo answers.  So here is the link:

  4. i had 4 chicken eggs.

if the chick didnt die, which i personally think will in about 3-5 days because slowly the fluids that nurture the unborn chick are going away. If not dead, once hattched it will need serious care and lots of protein and vitamin supplements.

i would reccomned seeing ur avian vet....or local farm where u got the egg from.

  5. It probably won't survive, it depends on how high your fiance dropped it from. As long as you keep the egg in a secure and warm place you might have a chance of keeping it alive

    I hope I've Helped - Good Luck! :)

  6. i rekon ull just have to wait an c wat happens, thers really not much u can do

  7. Oh oh, shouldn't have done that!
