  1. the slope it -2

    steps to solve:

    1. multiply both sides by (2) get get rid of the (2) on the bottom on the right.

    2. now you have 2x = 5 - y. so subtract (5) from both sides to get the (y) by its self

    3. now you have 2x - 5 = -y. so multiply both sides by (-1) to get rid of the negative with the (y)

    4. so you end up with y= -2x - 5

your slope is -2x or -2

  2. Well, depending on what kind of calculator you have, you should be able to punch it in, and it would tell you.  I personally have a TI 84 Plus for Honors Algrebra II last year
