If someone is considered to be part of the gentry does that also mean that they could be conisdered a nobleman

  2. Members of the gentry were landowners (in the days when most people didn't own land) but were untitled.  If a member of the gentry served in Parliament, he got there by being elected to the House of Commons, not by inheriting a seat in the House of Lords.

    They are not considered to be nobleman, and are ranked below the peers of the realm.
