I was wondering if anyone had some advise. I'm positive I have thrush (had it a few times years ago) and got some treatment from chemist which seems to be helping. Today however, I have noticed blood in my discharge, not a huge amount though, more spotting. I am on the pill and have had bleeding between periods in the past (spotting), but this time the blood is much redder than the more brownish bleeding then I'm used to. Also been having mild period type cramps in my stomach, my period is not due for another 10 days, its like clockwork. Does anyone know what these symptoms could be? I realise its time to go to doctors, but can't get an appointment until Monday, and am panicking! Thanks for your help x

  1. hiya, it sounds like its probably due to thrush, i have to take a lot of antibiotics and am always getting it.sometimes i get a bit of blood but have you also noticed any stinging or burning or strong urine smell or dark in colour? if this is the case you may have a cystitis type urine infection which you need the doctor to diagnose. when you go to your appointment make sure you take an early morning sample preferably the first one of the day with you.if you haven't got a sample pot just use anything with a lid and use boiled water to wash it out first. it could also be a simple vaginal infection or is there any chance it could be s*x related i.e bit rigorous(sorry to be that personal) let us know how you get on...... x

  2. no need to panic sounds like some cells have sloughed off of your cervix entrance and are mixed with your mucus, and is harmless as thrush starts in the cervix internally and leaves area a little raw. Try not to worry,  it will heal all by itself but  be assured Dr will just swab you or ask you arrange a smear test. Look up 'cervical erosion' on the web, good luck, take care.

  3. canastan duo buy it in a chemist

  4. might be sugar imbalance.  Your doctor will give you monistat for candida(thrush).  I was on the pill at 17 until I had my tubes tied at 32.  Your doctor will see your urine and blood screening.  As long as you are not pregnant it may be just hormonal imbalance that is common with us ladies. If you get sharp pains please go to the ER.

  5. Hi, the symptoms of thrush are very similar to those of chlamydia,  to Dr's and they will do swab tests to rule it out.

  6. Dont panic!

Any chance you could be pregnant?

If you have had thrush, it could be another infection?

Could it be anything to do with ovulation? i sometimes get pains when im ovulating

the doctors will sort you out ,but in the mean time dont panic its more than likely oging to be something simple :)

  7. Thrush is not nice, i got a tablet from the doctors and bought canestan cream aswell.

Have you missed any pills or been sick?? or are you taking antibiotics, i'm just wondering if the spotting could be a sign that you are pregnant?

The only thing you can do is wait for the doctors appointment, but try not to worry i'm sure its ok.
