  1. If you ever go to a civil war re-enactment, you'll see that they recycled bandages.  (Your nice linen bandages dry up, they let them dry, then use them on the next guy.)


  2. True.  Most soldiers died from disease caused by poor medical practices and the ignorance of battlefield doctors.  Amputation was a very common procedure and sterilization was non-existent.  

  3. True...for the most part. It would be more accurate to say that more soldiers died as a result of infections contracted through wounds, as opposed to the wounds themselves.
