  1. chew toys use toilettubes or dog buiscits or try a bracnh fomr outside they love to chew on them

  2. Yogurt drops are like solidified yogurt. Think of it as yogurt  chocolate chips.

When I chose out my hamster, the sales assistant gave me these pretzel chews (http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js... to bribe the hamster into the box, and they all snatched some. They are hard and crunchy and my hamster likes them.

You can surf the reviews from people who bought the chew toy on Petsmart products- just click 'Read Reviews'. Then you can see if the hamster chewed away or left them untouched.

My friends hamster and mine like these, as well- http://www.petsmart.com/product/index.js...

You can also try fruit tree twigs. Just don't collect them from a sprayed tree or near the road (auto emmissions).

    Good luck!

  3. When it comes to chew toys, you can often find small wooden blocks at most pet stores that hamsters like to chew on. It files their teeth down, so these can be very useful things to purchase.

As for treats, I like to give my hamster the following:

    Peanuts (raw)

    Cucumbers

    Baby carrots

    Unsalted sunflower seeds

    Pumpkin seeds

Any type of fruit (besides sour fruits and tomatoes, which will give a hamster wet tail, most fruits are perfectly fine)

Dog treats are good too, as hamsters enjoy eating them and they help file down their teeth

Lastly, I like to buy my hamster vitamin drops from either Petco or Petsmart. They are made of milk and honey, and my hamster enjoys them immensely.

  4. For chew toys, use empty toilet roll tubes and hard dog biscuits. They are the favourite chew toys of majority of hamsters. Most hamsters do not get attracted to mineral chews since they are an alien concept for hamsters.

As for treats, I always advise hamster owners to give them only natural treats. Some healthy treats for hamsters are -

    Bread

    Skimmed Milk

    Bits of cheese

    Bits of hard boiled egg

    Bran flakes

    Carrots

The best food for hamsters is only the commercial hamster feed mix available in the pet shops. You can feed him treats occassionally. However, the commercial hamster mix should account for 80% of the hamster daily diet and only 20% should come from treats.

Also remember any treat you give him should be unsalted, without sugar and without flavour. Visit the following link for a list of foods you can and not give a hamster.

Both Yogies and Yoghurt drops are the same. However try to minimise these treats to hamsters. If you check the ingredients of these products, you would see they have lots of sugar and artificial ingredients which can be harmful to hamsters in the long run or cause them to become overweight.

Seems to be a very choosy hamster. I have one like that who did not take to cardboard but finally fell for dog biscuits. Buy only hard dog biscuits without sugar in them or you can bake your own at home without sugar in them.
