  1. My Chihuahua was recently pregnant.  Is her personality changing?  Is she acting different?  Is she digging?  If so, there's a good possiblity.  I would take her to her vet and have her checked out, but you have to wait until after 30 days, so, they can really tell or not.

  2. Yes, she's much too young to be pregnant and yes, it's very dangerous if the male's bigger than her (older doesn't matter).  You need to take her to the vet for a check-up and if she is pregnant, the best thing to do for her health and safety, is spay her and abort the litter.

  3. his is my standard answer and meant for information to get resources to you for your dog. Not meant to offend just to save time!

Okay you don't know if dog is in heat, how often, or what to do, or you think your dog is pregnant, when its ready to give birth etc etc etc ?

If you are asking this question you MUST read up and have material on hand and if your dog gives birth.  If you are in time sensitive situation  check your library or local bookstore!

This book is a good one.

YOU NEED to get educated and FAST as pregnancies are only 63 days and it GOES fast.Build a list of three books and go pick them up locally or order from my site which whatever. If your dog is birthing or just given birth it is not to late as the best books deal with care afterwards of mom and pups.

Just get some material to have on hand! Find a mentor in real life someone that has gone through this before.

  4. is possible she could be pregnant.Check for these tell tale signs:

    -Weight gain.

    -Bigger pinker teats.

    -Swollen stomach.

-Change in attitude (i.e she may become more friendly)

-She may be protective of her tummy)

If you are still not sure take her along to your nearest vet and they will be able to tell for if she is/is not pregnant.

She wont die because the male is bigger and older-in fact it wont affect her at all.

My cat gave birth about 6 weeks ago to two kittens(unfortunately one died) and i found myself asking the same questions as you when she was pregnant. She was very young (9-10 months)i have also had a pregnant dog before.

The best way to know if she is pregnant is to just wait and see-it will appear more obvious as she gets nearer to her giving birth then your in for a surprise!

  5. if you are super worried take her to the vet asap

  6. Yes, it is VERY likely she is pregnant, and very likely she could die. Please take her to your vet asap and get her spayed! She is old enough to be spayed, but too young to be pregnant! If you really want to "know" for sure, you can take her to a vet, and find out from him when the best time to come in for x-rays or an ultrasound. But, by then she will be almost ready to deliver. The best thing is get her spayed-- then you know for SURE she is not pregnant, and she will live a longer healthier life! Getting your male done is a great idea too, he will be healthier and happier!

  7. Yes, Yes, Vet, Yes.

If you left her in heat with a male (stupid thing to do) then there's a very good chance she's pregnant.  Having intact Chi's is ALWAYS dangerous.  Any intact dog is dangerous, breeding by someone not well educated in the area means death for the mother and puppies.  At one, she's still a puppy herself.  So yes, that is dangerous as well.

The easiest way to know is to take her to the vet and have her spayed, continuing with the pregnancy will kill her since the male is bigger.  While she's getting spayed, neuter your male as well!

  8. I am in a similar situation with my chi's but mine just cant keep there paws off each other, they tie together at the least expected time. my ***** does not show any sign of being in heat but they still mate. best thing to do as i have been advided by a few people on here is to get them done
