Please help! idk what to do?!

Question

when i was little i started collecting coins and i kept them in in a drawer in my parents room, my dad was the only one besides me that knew they where hidden there.

about a year after i stopped collecting them my dad assumed i didnt want them any more and gave them to my little sister. and i didnt find out until today (that happened like 2 years ago).

my sister didnt realize that they used to be mine and today she was showing her friends "her" coin collection and found $200 hidden i a secret compartment the coins were in and she thought the money was hers. when the money was really mine. i had hid it there so that i could save it for something special. when i told her it was mine no one beleived me and now idk what to do b/c i worked hard for that money. please help what should i do!!??

I would also recommend a bank account...losing money sucks big time.

Seriously though, talk to your dad.  But try not to show anger at him to avoid him becoming defensive and writing you off.

He probably feels bad but doesn't know exactly what to do.

Your dad knows. Your father had no right to give the coins away and he will have to step in and correct his mistake. Next time use a savings account.

Discuss the matter with your dad, he gave something that was yours away without discussing it with you, so he is the one that should pay the price for it.
