Please help... is this normal?

I am 39 weeks pregnant. I have been up for 3 hours having contractions. I don't know if I am just not keep good track of them or not, but can one single contraction last up to 5 minutes? I am afraid to call my doctor because I've called several times. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you!

Sounds like it is time to call especially if the contractions are close together.  Towards the end of labor, contractions last long and almost run into each other so it sometimes almost feels like constant contractions.  If they were strong enough to keep you awake, they are probably the real thing!  Good Luck and Congrats!

Strong contractions can last longer .. but if you have been having contractions for 3 hours and they are getting stronger you need to call your doc and go to labor and delivery.

BTW Congrats.. sounds like you will become a new mommy today
