Question:

Please help...lap top question...?

Alrighty, I'm looking into buying a lap top. Nothing fancy, I don't care about putting games on it, or being able to do anything real fancy on it either. The only things it will be used for are (1) typing the novel up that I am writing (I'm tired of using the old pencil to paper method), (2) editing pictures for my small photography business, and (3) internet. I would like for it to have a disc drive, and (if they still make them with it anymore) a floppy disc drive, but if it doesn't have a floppy drive, I'll deal. Now, I don't really know a lot about computers, but I know enough to make them work and etc. But as far as the lingo and info to know a good buy, I'm clueless. (I know, crazy, a woman that will admit when she doesn't know something...that's right...I'm that woman...lol, sorry, I have an odd humor). Anyway, I am looking to buy one off Amazon.com for shipping reasons, and I don't want anything expensive. If anyone could offer me a few suggestions, I would appreciate it.

  3. Ok here is goes make sure if your computer has 1GB of ram if you are using xp (or 2GB if you are going to use vista) this is one of the key element of performance of any computer/laptop. If you are planning to do allot of multi tasking then get a processor or a cpu that is a "dual core" or a "core 2 duo" and if you are planning to use the laptop on the go make sure you get one that it is a "centrino" due to the fact that centrino laptop are the best when it come to battery life. Also look for a laptop that has at least 160GB hard drive. And for the good old floppy drive you can get a usb floppy drive off ebay for like $20 bucks and last of all get a laptop that is able to at least read dvd due to fact many program today come as a dvd
