well to start it off, it has been about 2 weeks since i got my tongue pierced, since few days ago i was finally relieved that my tongue has healed, but since 3-4 days ago, every morning i wake up, the barbell under my tongue tend to be stuck, if you know what i mean.... so basically every morning i have to push the barbell on top as hard as i can and suffer from a terrible pain so that the barbell on the bottom of my tongue isnt stuck anymore, is this normal? HAS THS HAPPENED TO ANY OF YOU?...if so, how long does this continue?

  1. its normal, just as long as there is no dicharge from your tongue. ive had mine pierced for 5 yrs now and it will do that every now and again. just make sure you brush your teeth regularly and use mouth wash. you have to remember your tongue is a muscle, certain things we eat or drink can make it swell.

  2. No it hasnt happened to me but have you changed to a smaller bar yet? Do you clean it with mouthwash a few times daily. I think its just the inside of your tongue getting dry.My advice would to go back to your piercer and tell them whats happening and they will be able to help you out and try fix it for you.

In the mean time put some salt in water and rinse it around your mouth then spit out. Salt will take any germs away from it.

    Good Luck

  3. i had my tongue pierced and that did not happen go back to where you had it pterced and ask them

  4. I had mine pierced about 7 yrs ago, so it's been a while, but are you rinsing with listerine constantly? I rinsed like every 1/2 hour for the first couple of weeks. After its healed to where it doesnt hurt, you're going to need to brush the ball under your tongue because plaque builds up over time and that could be what you're experiencing. If I were you I'd take the whole thing out, soak it in listerine for a short time, swish out with listerine and then put it back in just to be sure you are somewhat sterile again. If that continues I'd call someone though, it shouldnt still hurt alot after 2 wks.

  5. 1. Your tongue wants to heal and it tries to grow around your barbell.

    2. You are allergic to the barbell (the material it is made out of).

  6. it has happened to me ... its normal because now the hole is getting smaller.. if you have the original barbell in your tounge the same one they used to pierce it then you should change it and get a smaller one.  2 weeks is enuff time that you can change the piercing without it closing on you quickly
