  1. You should take him to the vet if you plan on keeping him. In the meantime take him for a long walk and give him some exercise it might help him go. Don't give him table food it is not good for him. Give him some canned food, like Mighty Dog  and try to get him to drink a lot of water, that might also get him to go.

  2. If he's not acting like he's in pain, then the chances are he's scared and nervous.  Many dogs will not p**p for up to 3-4 days if they're not in their own yard.  It's sort of a "I don't want anyone to know I'm here" instincts.

Having said that, since he's a stray you need to be taking action.

    1) Contact your local animal shelter.  You don't have to give him to them, but by contacting them they can tell you if they have a "found dog" database and that way the owners have a good chance of finding their dog.  Also, they will microchip scan the dog to see if he has owners, check for tattoos, and basically make sure that he doesn't have any ID that you may have missed.  The pound is the first place owners go when they lose their dog.  It should be the first place people contact when they find a dog.

    2) Put up "found" signs in your neighborhood, put up a "found" post on Craigslist, and THEN put something in the paper.  Most dogs are lost in the area they're found, as in... he probably belongs within a mile of your house.  If you put up signs throughout that area, the chances of his owners finding him increase.  Most people don't look in the paper.  And make sure NOT to put up a description.  Do a very basic one, but let them provide the details before you turn a dog over.

    3) Get him real food.  Just a small bag.  If you're going to keep him in your house.  Burgers and fries aren't good for humans to survive on, let alone dogs.  ;)

  3. well all I can say is take him to a vet, it can be anything.

  4. The food you are giving him would not have caused this problem.  You need to take him to the vet to see if he has a bowel obstruction or problem.  If you plan on keeping him you should get him a check up and vaccinated anyway.

  5. you should just spend time with him more so he gets used to you. and then teach him stuff

  6. You need to take him to the vet now and if you can't do that then take it to a no kill shelter.

  7. If you have tried dog food and he still will not eat  and you are going to keep him I would take him to the vet if it starts acting sick.  You might any way because he might have a chip that will lead you to his owners.

  8. When I got my dog she didn't want to eat very much and she didn't go for a couple of days.  Change of environment can cause a dog to be stressed and even in humans when we get stressed we sometimes have problems.  I would just try to make him comfortable and hope he does and take him to the vet on Monday to have him checked out.  If he is a stray you don't know what diseases he could be carrying and it would be better to be safe than sorry.

  9. Stress and anxiety can cause a dog to 'hold it', longer than normal. If he's peeing okay, and is eating and drinking (I'd suggest proper dog food, not fries etc.), then he will most likely p**p soon enough.

I wouldn't worry too much about that.

I hope you find his owner, or a good home for him if you can't keep him. Best of luck.

  10. well stray dogs usually only find things in trash cans he prob ate french frys before and never had real dog food but to your other question he may be constapated or maybe something is rong with his urinary track i would take him to the vet maybe they will be genourus on the price since hes a stray

  11. not entirely unusual, if his digestive track was empty when you found him.  Monday I might be concerned about constipation.

  12. If you have other dogs, he may be afraid to p**p, because your other dogs have marked their territory.  If you dont have other dogs, then you may want to take him to the vet.

You definitely want to give him normal dog food. If you don't plan on keeping him, just get a small bag. Meat is okay for dogs, but french fries may make the poor little guy sick, seeing as how grease isnt great for dogs, just like it isnt for humans.

Think of the dog as a human, because thats basically what they are. Try giving him some cheese as that may act as a natural laxative.

But if he doesn't go by tomorrow, call in an emergency vet, or find one thats open on Sundays.

  13. take him to the vet

  14. hes prolly just very scared, I would suggest keeping him outside where hes more comfortable or at least in a garage if you dont mind cleaning p**p in there... give him more then needed food so he eats and poops freely in privacy
