Please help me!!! A math problem been doing for 3 hours!!..?

Question

I got to use either plus,minus,times,or divide to put on the missing boxes on this problem.

12 ? 6 ? 4 ? 2 = 24

( you can only use plus,minus,times or divide once)

( You can only use three symbols)

EXAMPLE:

12 x 6 divided by 4 + 2= 20

Please Please Help me!!!!

Do they have to come in that order?  Or can you move them?

(6/2)=3(x4)=12(+12)=24

so........6 divided by 2 times 4 plus 12 equals 24

There is no answer for this problem. Cannot be solved. There is a mistake somewhere.
