  1. LoL..you are so screwed.

  2. The only way other than drugs (and there are some for anxiety) is to get up in front of people more often until you feel comfortable. It may help to bring props, whether graphs, illustrations or other points of reference so that eyes aren't 100% focused on you.You could also use the old adage of imagining your audience in their underwear.

  3. Been there, done that.  The first few speeches will be sort of painful, but then your going to realize that no one in the class likes making speeches and most of them aren't even listening anyway they're all panicking over the fact that they have to get up and give a speech soon.  And then at some point about half way through the semester it just won't be that scary anymore.  Most all of us have had this problem at one point and it does get better.

  4. when you get up in front of people, just think of them as all naked, look at yourself fully clothed and how silly they all look

  5. I had the same problem when I was in college. To top it off, I took private voice lessons not realizing that for the final I had to sing a solo in front of everyone who took voice lessons (150).

For the speech class, I memorized the speech (even though it wasn't required). By doing that, I made it mine. I owned it. I practiced and practiced. When it was my turn, I had confidence because I knew it inside and out. I engaged the rest of the class by using eye contact and watching the amazement on their faces as I was speaking. Even though the talk was only about one minute long, This one time gave me my confidence from that point on. I decided never again to be afraid.

I went on to be a public speaker and singer for many years. Always a bit apprehensive just before I go on, but full of confidence once I open my mouth.

  6. You know, i'm not really sure what to say. I think that is something that you just get over. After doing speech after speech it's just not a big deal anymore. You just have to change your attitude. You are obviously too concerned about what other people think of you. Forget about them. Just make sure you are prepared to save yourself any chance of embarrassment.
