Please help me; I don't know where to begin....?

I am 5'2'' tall, and I weigh about 150 lbs.

How can I get down to not just a healthy weight, but that size where you're just tiny and cute and it's so effortless to buy clothes and just LIVE? Maybe like Baby off of Dirty Dancing or something.

I don't care how long it takes, really. I mean, quicker is always better, but I just don't have any idea where to start from in the first place.

Do you have any suggestions aside from "exercise and eat right"? Please be specific.

The only thing is that I am a vegetarian, but I do still eat eggs and dairy. I have actually lost weight since becoming a vegetarian.

Thank you

  1. stay away from cheesee

  2. don't starve yourself, its not the way to handle it.

eat more of healthy food and less trans/saturated fats.

  3. find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.

dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.

eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)

5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day

    8 glasses of water

have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy

have beans and rice (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle

cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training

dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

  4. Cut the carbs. Its the easiest. Work out twice a day. Like just going on a 10-15 minute run. Or doing weights. Or whatever you enjoy. And just cut out sweets. For breakfast, just do eggs, salad, and a sausage. (Its hard losing weight as a vegetarian, trust me. I was on for about a year, and I gained 25 pounds. Your cutting out all of your protein, and all thats left is fat foods.) Lunch, just get a big salad, or something healthy. And dinner, do the same. Also, write down everything you eat. And then record you weight every night in the same book. If you caved, and had a bowl of sugar cereal one morning, and that night you think about getting a slice of pie, you look at the journal that says you had cereal, and figure out you've already had your sugar for the day.

Remember, losing weight is based on about 70% of what you eat and 30% of working out. Lets say this, you eat two candy bars, thats easily 500 calories you just ate, you'd have to run a good two and a half hours to burn those calories off. Just remember that ;)

  5. I gave this answer to someone else, but I think this will benefit you as well.

Well... getting motivated is your first step.

    1) Get a friend to do the same workout plan as you. It seriously works, I swear. Because when you're not in the mood to work out, your friend should be the one to push you and get you pumped to get up and go. Same thing for when your friend is the one who's not feelin it. You guys could even make a game out of it to see who can do more and make bets. Loser fills the other's gas tank. (I bet you'll be a little motivated then!) haha or it could be loser buys lunch... or something small...

    2) Download a lot of fast pace music that makes you happy and in a great mood and put all of them on a playlist on your mp3 player and sing the lyrics in your head to every song when you work out... On a treadmill or running outside, this does wonders... A lot of the time I forget that I'm even running.

    3) Buy a clothing item or break out an old one that you can no longer fit and hang it in your kitchen.. preferably next to the fridge or snack cabinet. TRUST me, you'll think twice before you get ready to throw down on some cookies.

As for exercising, workout 6 days a week, resting for one day. That gym idea sounds great... maybe do cardio (like running) for 30 minutes up to an hour a day. Include strength training afterwards, like crunches and lifting light weights (3-5 libs) for toning up.

I have a fun abdominal exercise you may or may not like.. But I find it fun rather than crunches. Make sure you've got a lot of room on a carpeted floor. Sit indian style with your hands clamped to you legs (shins) and roll around the floor. Because you're not using your arms and legs, you only using momentum and abs to roll. Do it for like 10-15 minutes during a tv show until a commercial break. I laugh the entire time I do it, (which is double the strength training because laughing works your abs as well!) By the way I got a six pack doing this, so I promise it works.

Oh and here's a tip. Drink a glass of water BEFORE AND AFTER every meal. it makes you feel full and helps you eat less.

Just try some of these things, and good luck! I hope I helped.

  6. Hey girl... I am also vegetarian also. When you eat eggs just eat egg whites not the yolk. Alway whole grain wheat bread.

Eat alot of veggys and fruit and do not eat after 7pm at all.

Drink alot of water and NO SODA.

Workout doing cardio 30-45 min for four days a week.

    Do situps too

I am 5'3 and weigh 130 I used to weigh 118 when I was younger.

    anyway goodluck!

  7. Sounds like you want to loose about 25+ lbs. The best way is to exercise and eat right, but you also want to make sure you drink lots of water too. If you aren't necessarily into the exercise thing then you need sports or dancing. What do you like to do? You could also try a different exercise for each day of the week so that you don't get bored. Like, walking on Monday, bicycling on Tuesday, swimming on Wednesday, weights on Thursday, and treadmill on Friday. Or any of the exercises you like. If you are young, get your fiends involved and make it a group exercise club like volley ball, skating, swimming, biking, etc.
