I'm not fat, or overweight or anything. But I've been gaining a lot of weight lately. I'm 13, and I know I shouldn't be tooo obsessed over my weight, but I just want to stay healthy.

My problem is I don't do sports. I have no time, lol.

And I also am a terrible eater. I can't help it. If someone offers me junk food I automatically eat it. And I try to eat healthier. But I just don't like salad or stuff at all! Part of it, is that I don't feel like taking the time to make something. My mom doesn't want to cook, so I just grab an unhealthy food that's already made.

What are some excercises I can do without any equipment, and in limited space.

And, what are some good foods that can be made quickly/easily?

  1. A great way to burn some calories and not over eat is simple if you have the right ideas. First, go shopping with your parents, but before you leave tell them you want to ONLY buy healthy foods. When you get to the store start choosing foods and let your parents decide whether they are healthy or not from your decisions before you left. For exercise in a small area try sit ups, push-ups, and jogging to start losing some weight. I warn you though, don't over work yourself or you'll get sick. Good Luck!

  2. You could eat a lot of fruits and nuts. And they make some really good healthy granola bars you can buy... eat whole wheat breads instead of white... stay away from like frozen foods...

What I do when I work out it write out some exercises and then check them off as I do them... like....

    stretch

    30 push ups

    30 squats

    20 lunges

    40 chruches

and so on... you can do more or less, that was just an example.. I am 15.. and that's what I normally do... Goood luck! Hope I was helpful

  3. Try to eat more fruit, banana's, pineapple, or peaches , instead of junk food. They will fill you up without that awful feeling you ate something gross. Snack more frequently instead of eating larger meals, then your metabolism will pick back up again. Late at night try not to eat a huge dinner because it is closer to bed time so your metabolism is at it's slowest. It is also about portion control, eat the food you want but try limiting the amount and eat slower so your body can digest and you will feel more full.

For excersize, try doing squats, push ups, leg lifts, crunches, lunges. You should be doing this all in your gym class, but do it at the end of the day and do it longer for better results. Talk to your gym teacher as well for some good excersizes that you could do at home.

  4. The best exercise is WALKING.  take your Ipod and go for a walk- rocking out as you go.  It'd be fun.

Eating good without cooking is tough.  Salads are the easist but you can do cheese and crackers, slices of apples, oranges.  Pineapple and cottage cheese, yogurt.  Even peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Even Lean Pockets (frozen) are great.

All of this is better than chips and cookies.
