  1. Maybe the person should see a doc.

Call a pharmasist and see what they suggest for bringing fevers down (is it tylenol?).  Cool bath, perhaps.  Or at least cool wet cloth on forhead.  Drink lot of H2O.

  2. A girl I take care of at work had a temp of Degrees for 4 days and she is now 30 and mentally disabled.

What had happened was her Mother did not treat her and it fried her brain. Mind you she got the fever from the chicken pox

  3. Have them take a couple Tylenol to reduce the fever. If it persists for more than a day or two without breaking, take them to the doctor.

  4. well what are the symptoms? cuz i know when i had the flu my temp was 103. but i would recommend seeing a doctor for sure.

  5. How old is the person?  Have you taken any fever-reducers? (Tylenol, etc)

104 requires a trip to the doctor ASAP if it is an elderly person or child.  Much higher than that and the brain will start to become damaged.  In the meantime if it's an adult give them appropriate amounts of a fever-reducer and apply a cold washcloth or ice pack to the back of the neck to help cool the blood going to the head.  Go to the UrgiCare or ER.  If it's a child, give them Tylenol as well and see the doctor but be careful that the baby doesn't get cold as this will trigger shivering, which will in turn increase internal temperature.  Don't wrap a baby up too warmly, just ensure they are covered normally.  If it's a normal, otherwise healthy adult you needn't worry as much, unless you have taken Tylenol and the fever keeps climbing.  Take it every 15 minutes as well as apply cold to the back of the neck.  If it gets worse, see the doctor ASAP as well.

  6. No, the fever by itself is not likely to kill a person. It could be serious or not, depending on the other symptoms the person has. If you're not sure what to do, make sure they see a doctor as soon as possible. In the mean time, they're going to need lots of liquids in order to not get dehydrated.
