Question:

Please help me... anyone???

okayy... im a 13 year old girl... i want to tryout for softball at my school.... tryouts are at the beginning of the school year which would be 2-3 weeks from now... i dont have any experience buhhht i suppose im blessed with kind of natural abilities with pitching and such... does anyone have any tips for tryouts and conditioning and preparing myself physically and mentally?? i really want to do this.

i also have a couple of other questions... what can i do to increase my running and pitching speed?? i also need to work with the bat ive been tossing the softball up myself and hitting it... i dont have anyone who can pitch to me except my mom whos never home how should i practice hitting the ball?

  1. dont be nervous. not all those trying out will have experience. relax and do your best. play pepper ball with friends to improve your eye/hand coordination. play dodge ball too to improve your reflexes. just be a kid! good luck.

    but here we go to help

    OK stop panicing, im 14 and i play baseball with the boys so just settledown. Second of all To prepare yourself both ways just keep saying " yes i can do this" and visualize yourself pitching the ball and striking everyone out ( i know it sounds corny but its true) nect To increase your running speed do spirts -SPIRT- walk-SPRINT-walk-SPRINT and so one and whatnot.  NEXT for practicing your swinning and speed of the bat, make sure the bat is the correct size and lenght for you. Next pick a tree put your bat up to the tree Like your holding it out to the side. After that put your bat 5cm's away from the tree and swing, usually you will hit the tree and if you do that means your batting uneven.   fix that and then your good to go:)   goodluck

  5. for hitting every day practice with either your bat or a stick or something like that do heel. hips. hands. so get in your batting stance and act like your going to hit and and twist your ankle then turn your hips then bring your hands through the zone. do that every day for at least 10 minuets.

  6. i'm 14 and i play travel baseball  and i sign up at a big sports complex mainly for soccer and roller hockey. I go to a pro pitcher and my high school coach for pitching and hitting practice, and i know there is a softball area where girls are working with this one former college softball player.

    You could try taking those lessons

  7. You need to do a lot of streching and working out i.e. lifting weights and conditioning!  Sprinting and lifting weights....other than that let your natual abilities do the rest :)
