Last night I turned off all my lights and got into bed. Before I shut my eyes someone whispered my name twice into my left ear. I tried to move/speak, but I could not do either. Then I got scared and closed my eyes. After I closed my eyes someone whispered wake up to me in my ear. I opened my eyes only to see a white figure. It was not relly human shape or animal, but it was standing upright. Was this a spirit?

  1. No, you were dreaming.  It was an episode of sleep paralysis.  It's a type of sleep disorder.  You feel like you wake up, but you can't move, and often you hallucinate seeing, hearing, or feeling things that aren't there.

  2. I would give it a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10. To rule out sleep paralysis, think if you were able to move, and a repeat performance while out of bed and standing would help nail it. Of course video or pics would be great, but hard to get since you never know if or when it will happen again

  3. Possibly it was a ghost or spirit, but it is hard to make that call without evidence one way or the other.  So, in order to debunk it, you have to try to duplicate the event.  If its something that you are not able to duplicate, then you need to set up video and audio equipment to see if you can catch the action yourself.  You can have a camera for still photography ready in case you see it around and want to make a photo.  That is the best way to solve the mystery, one way of the other.

  4. A spirit if you are indeed being truthful.

  5. This actually sounds like a combination of things happening: I'd say sleep paralysis combined with precognicent imagery (in other words, imaginary images that appear before you fully wake up). The name whispered into your ear, though, that might be something difficult to assess without knowing where things are around you.

Be aware that just because you don't feel that you've slept, it doesn't mean that you aren't still dreaming. I've had one episode of what's called "lucid dreaming" which means having a dream while awake. Some people try to make themselves do it, though I don't know to what degree they succeed. A white figure in front of you that's more of an abstract image is similar to what I saw in my episode, which was induced by someone slipping me drugs in my Kool-Aid. However, many people have done this without the aid of drugs, and so this could be what you experienced, combined with sleep paralysis.

There are lots of ways to explain this.

  6. I've had that experiance a couple times. there was never any figure but i've had instances where i was awake and couldn't move. i then startedto hear a buzz and a pop. i woke up the next morning with a really bad earache.

another time i was laying down about to go to sleep and i heard a voice that sounded similar to my grandmother that said Melissa WAKE UP! i woke up and didn't see or hear anything else. i figured it was one of those auditory hallucinations. pretty freaky.

i cant' explain the figure though. maybe a dream?

  7. Sure, I will help you debunk this. This is a cute story you made up, similar to the fake ghost picture and story you posted the other week.

This also explains why you choose to keep your questions and answers as "private", so people cannot string together the fabrications.

It is sad that you have nothing better to do.

  8. If not made up, sounds a lot like sleep paralysis.

  9. WOW that is interesting. OK so your asking to debunk this so I will do the best I can!

So it could have been some hallucinations. I was watching this program and it said that high EMF readings can cause hallucinations, I can't remember if it said anything about hearing things though. Maybe you just heard something else like a t.v. or something, maybe something outside but I had an experience like that only it was 2 people talking and the figure was black.

You could have been dreaming? I am not sure. You should put a video camera in the room with the activity and see if you can catch this " white figure"

    Best of LUCK!
