  1. cybershott its the best

  2. Optical zoom, the lens moves. Digital zoom, the image is magnified by electronics. 2.7 screen vs 3 screen, is not much of a gain and . 8.1 mega pixels vs 10 mega pixels and 10x zoom vs 12x zoom is still not much of a gain. I would choose Fuji because they make their own lens and they have been in the camera business longer than Sony.

  3. i would pick the fujifilm one, since its cheaper..

but it also has better megapixels, better zoom, and holds SD cards.

because i have a sony camera, and the memory cards are super expensive, and when the battery dies, it needs to be recharged, which sucks at like concerts & stuff, so its easier with throw away batteries. (:

but get whichever you really want.

  4. I would break it down to the basic categories.

Lens: Fuji's long zoom range is nice, it has a wider wide than Sony's; my pick is Fuji.

Pixels: A 10MP vs 8MP comparison with cameras of similar lens quality and CCD sensors is moot unless you are talking of supersized enlargements. I would say this category is even.

Size/Weight: The Fuji is bulkier and heavier, winner -- Sony.

Battery: Sony's own battery is light, slim and holds a lot of charge, but if it dies you're kaput. Fuji will take any AA, alkaline and NiMH and all. Winner - Fuji.

Flash Memory: Fuji is more versatile than Sony. Price-wise SD/SDHC card prices have been dropping like rock since there are a lot of companies competing in the business. I pick Fuji.

My 2-cents -- stick with the Fuji -- less money and more features you can grow with.

  5. The Fujifilm would be your best choice even if it seemes that the Sony is better quality becausse of its price, the Fujifilm has a great amount of pixels and better amount of optical zoom and the quality of its pictures are perfect.
