Please help me figure out this dream?

I had a dream that someone (a guy that I don't remember who it was, or neither did I recognize him)...well, it felt like he "won" my key necklace in a bet or something. I wear this necklace every single day. It's very basic, it's a small silver key on a thin silver chain nothing financially valuable; but I consider it the "key to my heart" very cheesy I know...

Well, I tried to convince him that I would be willing to trade him for it back...literally begging him I scatter around (not my room) looking for something to trade, I find this weird yellow and red fabric small jewlery box thing and ask him that I don't need the chain, I just want my key back. I don't remember, but I think I gave it back...what does that mean?

Please help?

Is this dream just very literal, or is there a meaning?

  1. i'm a psychology major and have been doing dream interpretations for a while as a hobby.  i'll start with an interpretation of all the major symbols then finish with an all around interpretation

the key necklace can symbolize a secret of yours that your don't want getting out to the public.  having your necklace being taken from you represents some kind of grief or sadness you are experiencing.  the two colors on the fabric can represent a conflict in your life, since red and yellow are not close on the color meter (or whatever it is called to see how similar colors are)

my interpretation of your dream is that you have something that you are not proud of or embarrassed about and you don't want people to know, but you are debating with yourself if you should tell someone about it

dream interpretation is not an exact science and should be taken with a grain of salt.  whatever this dream means, there is a good chance that it has something to do with something very personal (i know that sounds very general and it could be anything)

  2. This is my interpretation:

Well the two main things I notice are first that some one has gambled away your 'heart.' The second thing I notice is that you are desperate to get it back.

Maybe you have commitment issues or something. Maybe you are scared to fall in love (or 'gamble' your heart away) and it seems you are very scared judging on how desperate you are to get your key back once it's gone.

I guess that's quite simple interpretation but dreams don;t always have to be complicated!
