My selection for you would be Apex Silver Mines has 250 million reserves of silver and additional reserves of zinc and gold.  Symbol:  SIL.  You decide about your risk tolerance and the meaning of long term.   This is an low priced stock and is not likely to take off in a year or even two.   But, you have to be there when it does.  Be your own man and consider Apex if it meets with your research criteria.

Large reserves of silver? I assume you're talking about a silver mining stocks. There are many, but you should avoid commodity stocks right now. Frankly, don't be in commodity stocks unless you understand the markets very well. This is too complicated and risky for the average investor.

Either buy a mutual fund that invests in silver stocks or change your mind on this idea.
