Please help me find an example of a business who has failed/succeeded due to financial planning!!?

I'm doing an essay on why financial planning is important (pro) and I need an example. I can't find one! Does anyone know of any good (or bad) examples, PLEASE?

How about Enron?  That fell apart because of fraud within the company, but it might work...
