PLEASE HELP ME: How do you make a histogram?

here is my data:

How many extra curricular activites do u take part in?

0,1,2,2,3,2,2,3,4,3,2,4,3, 1,2,1,3,2,3,2,1 ,0,1,1,2.

with that data how do i make a histogram? please help me. i have no idea. this is summer work so we never actually learned how. please!

  1. You want to determine the "frequency" of each response.  The frequency is simply the count of instances, and the "responses" are the unique values in the input.

    For example, your responses are

    0, 1, 2, 3, 4

    and the frequencies are

    2, 6, 9, 6, 2

    A histogram is basically a bar chart of that data.

    One axis has the range of 0 to 4 (this is the independant variable, so the defacto standard is that this is the horizontal axis) and the other, the dependant variable, has the range 0 to 9 and you generally plot this vertically.


  2. A histogram (always graphs frequency) is essentially a bar graph that shows how many times each data appears.  So, count your list.  Your bar for 0 should be 2 high because there are two zeroes in your list.  The bar for 1 is 6 high, cause one shows up six times.  Two is 9 high... etc.  The trick to a histogram is that you should have NO SPACE between bars.  The bars touch each other.
