  1. What type of laptop do you have? I have an Acer and it has a button that slides from left to right in the front of it, thats how i disable and enable my wireless connection,

  2. normally you should have a key on the keyboard itself, but as we don't know which laptop you have we cant tell you exactly. We also don't know which Operating system you have so the best thing is try to double click on the "wireless" icon close to "system clock" than a small window will pop up. disable option should be there.

on Vista go to start > control panel > network and sharing center. there you will find it easily.

  3. go to your control panel. then network connections. where you see wireless connection you right click and disable or look on the left column tool bar for a disable option.

  4. You can disable the wireless connection through hardware or software.  If you want to turn it off through hardware I would need to know your model number or you're going to have to go through your manual.

Disabling it through software is easy.  You just right click on the wireless connection icon on your system tray on your lower left hand corner (Assuming your using XP or Vista) and select Disable and the connection should be disabled.
