It's not.

The subtraction property of equality says:

If you have:

a = b

Then it is okay to subtract the same amount from both sides:

a - c = b - c

The reverse is also true.  So if you have:

a - c = b - c

Then by the subtraction property of equality:

a = b

Perhaps you meant to write it differently?
