  1. Don't worry too much about what you will learn- I can assure you that what you will learn from a good sociology class will be important and mind-opening. Sociology is the study of society- how individuals act when they form groups, communities, and societies.. and how societies behave in relation to the people in them and other societies. It isn't as confusing as it sounds, I promise.

  2. i'm taking one this summer. So far it's been about a little of everything...like the psychology of how people act towards each other, ex: gender, economic, racial issues, the different categories of people, different ways of looking at life and the world, etc...

it's a pretty eye opening class and i think it's required most everywhere you go

  3. It is about different cultural societies. It will be a truly wonderful class, you will learn a lot about people and different cultures.

  4. This course is designed to introduce the beginning student, through discussion and lectures, to the basic terminology, concepts and methods necessary for a sociological analysis of social behavior in a group or social context. The course is an introductory course, thus, it deals with breadth, not depth. The major elements of sociological analysis surveyed are culture, society, social groups, socialization, social stratification, social change, collective behavior, deviance, symbolic communication and alienation.

Basically how people function and interact with others based on culture, society, social groups, socialization, social stratification, social change, and collective behavior.

  5. It will vary according to your major,ie sociology of teaching, or religioon or politics. Basically sociology is study of how society works. It teaches you to open your eyes and see what is going on around you in ways that nothing else does. go for it.
