Please help me on my drawings?

You see, every time I draw my perspective drawings, I don't draw straight lines very well. So i was wondering if there's a tool that can make sure i draw my lines straight every time.

  1. Rulers work just fine. But be careful when you're drawing the line because you don't want to have a straight line going into the wrong direction.

    You can use the Paint. If you hold the Shift key lines will be flat, depending on the direction in which the line is pulled. Horizontal or vertical. In most programs working Shift key. In ZwCAD use F8 key for (ORTHO).

    Use a clear one so you can see what's underneath.

    If you're looking for something else because a ruler just won't do, please specify.

    Maybe it's just because you were told at school (like I was) that artists do NOT use rulers. Well, some do.

  9. Man.  OK, I have to admit that d***o made me laugh.  But the mean answers p**s me off.  How do they know why you're asking?  Maybe you thought of a ruler, but wanted to know if there's something better.  And what if you didn't think of a ruler?  So?  So what.

    Anyway, I don't know of anything better than a clear ruler as someone else already suggested.

  14. Any straight edge you have around should help you. Don't think that because you are free handing you don't need to use tools.

  18. Vector based illustration applications like Corel Draw or Adobe Illustrator would be preferable, then you could render them and place them as a background in raster based applications. . . but that's only if you're using a computer, otherwise
