I am not sure what you are asking.  These look like men's suit jacket sizes.  The number represent the circumference of your chest in inches.  The R/L represent the length of the sleeves R - Regular, L - Long.

So, a 39L would mean your chest is 39 inches around and your have longer than average arms which require longer sleeves. (this is very normal)

the {R} means regular length and the {L} means long. also in American women's sizes 31-33 is a small 3-5

35-37 is a medium 7-8

39-40 is large 9-11
