I had a job interview yesterday with the V.P. of a company I really want to get on with. I want to send a short thank you. This is what I have but I dont think it sounds very good. Please help me word this. I would really appreciate it! You would be helping me put food on the table for the family!! "Thank you again for taking the time to visit with me yesterday. I am excited about the opportunity. I was very impressed with where company A is going and believe I would be a perfect fit on the team. Again, I appreciate your time and look forward to hearing from you." I know this doesnt flow well. This is a big time job so, I need it to sound very good. I want to thank them, mention the future plans for the company sound exciting and that I am excited about the opportunity. Thanks again for your help.

  1. Whoa partner.  Way too much info.  Just the two sentences in the middle beginning with, "Thank you again..opportunity".  Anything else, especially putting food on the table is way over the top.

  2. Too short. You need a full blown letter which recaps why you are a perfect fit for the company.

    Here's a great example:

    Hope this helps!

  3. "It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday. I was very impressed with Company A, and I would love to be part of its future. Thank you for your time. I hope to hear from you soon."

    or

"I just wanted to thank you again for taking time out of your busy day to meet with me yesterday. I was very impressed with Company A and your vision for its future. Since we talked, I have come up with a few ideas of my own that might help you meet your goals. I hope you and I will have an opportunity to discuss them and put them into action."

(Obviously, you'd have to develop a couple ideas.)

    or

"Thank you for meeting with me yesterday. Now that I've had a closer look at Company A, I'm even more eager to become part of your team. I think your plans for Company A's future are very exciting, and I believe I can be a valuable asset as you proceed. I look forward to hearing from you."
