Please help me overcome my fear?

Question

Close to a month ago i had a rodent in my bedroom and it completely scared the c**p out of me. I cleaned my room from top to bottom and recently dad bought poison to help get rid of it. Before this mice problem, i could live comfortably in my own home and not fear for anything. But ever since we had mice i can not sleep well and live in my house comfortably anymore. I don't know why I'm so afraid of them but i just am, my biggest fear is them coming back into my bedroom again (which i've suspect they've stop doing because theres no more signs of poo pellets) but regardless i always feel so paranoid and startle myself at the slightest unusual sound. Please help me

i like the idea of cat.. but since you seem to be more like a neat freak ... rodents disgust most of us .. its more like they are dirty than fearsome... since its something which has little to do with actual fear of rodent being in your home. so it will take sometime since you start to forget it.. but after sometime you will be back to normal. so dont worry...

What I did...   I got pet mice!  We had a real cool setup, with wheels, tunnels,  multiple floors, waLL to wall carpeting, heck...  we even installed air conditioning for them ok!  I used to take them out and play with them. We named them after astrologers...  Socrates...  Aristotle...  like that.  This worked for me, because whenever I saw another mouse....  "Oh Aristotle...  is THAT you little guy?  How did you get out of your cage?"  And because I had pet mice, I was never able to set traps, even for the wild ones, even when we no longer had the pets.  At least the kind that snapped their neck and made their eyeballs pop out.  That;s some sick stuiff right there!   I would catch them in live traps and take them to some field a few miles away.
