I have recently remodeled my home and when I painted, I painted the kitchen a deep red, my living room is a darker tan color and my hallway is a green color. I sounds ugly, but you can see all three rooms when you walk in the front door, so i wanted colors that went well together. I am now tired of the green in my hallway (way too dark) and i can't think of a color that would go well with tan and red. Please help!

  1. take compass and determine where your hallway is located. north - paint it with blue and white colors. south - red, purple, orange. east- green etc. color guide http://www.traditional-fengshui.com/feng...

  2. Light gray with light gold trim...or...vice-versa.

  3. I would choose a lighter tan for the hallway.  Color is good, but not when you get to many stark contrasts going.  The deep red kitchen, tan livingroom sounds good...a lighter shade of tan for the hallway will not only lighten the hall, but will not be a stark difference from the livingroom

  4. id definetally go with something neutral. with the dark tan and the vibrant red you need something that will welcome someone in and not take away from the rest of the colors in the house and the beauty you worked so hard to create.

Go with a beige or cream color with accents of brown or light blue for a neutral calm entrance.

  5. i would choose white.

  6. mustard yellow..?

  7. How about a purple..... not lavender but more wine purple.....

  8. White is a neutral colour try that.

    Happy painting

  9. My kitchen is deep red. The living room/dining room is dark ish green. The hallway is a cream kind of sunshine ish color, and the family room is tan.

This was all my mothers doing but we always get compliments on our house. hope this helps :)

  10. play around with the Sherwin Williams color visualizer to find colors that you like. It is the best paint visualizer on the web, imho. I like how their color palette is laid out, I like that you can search by color family & color name, the "painted" rooms look the most realistic, and it suggests coordinating color schemes. You can literally spend hours:

I think a light gray like "argos" (# 7065) might look terrific.

You can also take a photo of your house & upload it to the makeover gallery on this website:

You can get color suggestions & they'll photoshop them onto your room so that you can get an idea of what it will look like.

  11. white
