Please help me redo my room!?

Question

I'm 16 and I'm going to be re-doing my room.

I'm a girly girl but it's not like I'm about to paint my room hot pink.

I'm calm and collected, and prefer to be tidy about everything.

Can you please give me some ideas on how I can re-do my room?

PS- My carpet is beige

I need some fun ideas: how can I make my room a place I actually want to hang out in? Thanks

My room is the same thing now im also re-doing mine. How do you feel about polka dots? Im doing my room a couple pink walls and then on the wall that there is a mural if you dont want to paint over it im putting black floor length curtains. So the theme is like black pink and white polka dots, Kind of a glamour look to it.

How about painting one wall pink and the others white/cream then accent the room with pink accessories, or just other funky colours (cushions, bedspread etc). If you really don't want to go with pink, why not try metallic paint, just on one wall because it's more expensive but looks great. It comes in different colours and most DIY stores do a range.

You could put fairy lights up - along a shelf, over a closet door, or behind the bedroom door - so guests to your room walk through it - you can get them in strings that hang like this sort of thing....

A rug in a darker colour would give the room a bit more depth and what about a huge poster? Maybe a black and white cityscape or favourite music artist and put that on one of the white walls - it will really stand out that way.

You need to make sure there are places for your mates to sit when they come round - think about beanbags, big cushions?

Make sure you have a mirror or two also, for doing make up etc. and if you can a full length one for checking your outfits.

Arrange any CDs you have along a shelf so you can show off the music you like. And how about making a photo collage? You can buy cheap plastic clip frames and arrange photos of you and your friends in it along with concert tickets, mementos etc.

All these things cost money but just be patient and do one thing at a time. You can make some stuff like cushion covers which means you can be even more inventive by buying your own fabric. Hope this helps, it's been a few years now since I was sixteen but these are all things I might have done.

i will tell you like i told shan6366.  all you need to do it pick an item like a pillow or bed spread that you like with the colors in it you like.  Then you just build you room around those colors in that item.  You can't go wrong.  If you see a pillow that has really nice color scheme to it you can follow that.  Good luck

blue walls would make your room kind of beachy. pbteen has a bunch of stuff but its sort of expensive. Ikea has some REALLY cute stuff.

her are some ideas...u  could make your room  look vintage and hang up a couple of black and white photos of audrey hepburn , marilin monroe , france , nyc ...ect.  there is a really cute clock u might want to check out at bed bath & beyond with audrey hepburn on it. just go to the website and type in audrey hepburn on the search. Also type in audrey hepburn bedding at google and  u can go from there.   Another idea is to paint your walls a light pink and have darker pink and different shades of green of polka dots on only one wall. if u have a closet then have beaded hangers...u can find them at www.heirloomhangers.com  have funnnn
