Please help me regarding sony handy cams?

i have this handy cam,i recorded videos on it but now my pc cannot read it, my friend says that i should have formatted it to VR format, when i checked it was on video format, i really need the videos for our project and we will not have enough time to re-shoot the whole video, please people, i desperately need your help, what are my options so that my pc can read the videos? i still need to edit them and my pc cant read the format..what are my options?what can i do to remedy my stupidity...

  1. You'll need to get the video onto your PC first - finalise the DVD in the camcorder, put the disk in your PC's DVD drive and rip it with DVDDecrypter.

    WMM can't edit the .vob files you've ripped, so you'll need to convert them to either DV AVI or WMV (experiment to see which gives the best results).  You can do this with Super.

    Now you can edit in WMM and output in whatever format you choose. If you need your finished video on a DVD, you can author it with DVD Flick.

    A couple of notes -  

    All the apps are free.

    Converting and rendering video can take a long time - try a small sample of video to convert, edit etc to make sure you understand the work flow and are getting the right results.
