Please help me save my dog?

Question

Okay I have a baby itialan greyhound and she is so cute..Her name is Kali and she uses the restroom in the house everywhere..how do we get her to stop..When she starts to smell the ground and wants to pee i put her in her litter box and she just stares at me and jumps out and uses it on the ground! So How do i get her to stop..I got the dog from my aunt and my mom says if she dont stop it goes back to her so please help me save Kali!

Buy pee-pee pads!! My dog was the same way!

Once she pees on the pad, reward a TREAT for her. It's gunna take about 2 weeks, but by then she will know that peeing on her pad will get her a treat!

why dont u just start taking her outside regulerly and then u wont even have to worry about liter training

Don't be lazy first of all. A litterbox? Heard of grass??? Litterboxes are for cats. Felines. Not canines. Every time she goes in a circle and sniffs pick her up and place her on the grass. Repeat and place her on the same spot evey time. She will catch on. DO NOT rub her nose in it. It does nothing but makes you look like an idiot. Be patient, and do your own research. Go on google or yahoo or any other search engine and search for potty traning a dog. Best of luck!

Well, I have school and work, and both my parents work full time... I just recently got a puppy and potty trained her to go outside. All you have to do is punish her when she goes inside, tell her no in a stern voice and in the very same tone everytime... And take her outside and when she goes outside give her a treat and praise her(use a happy good tone, but the same exact one everytiem for this too) like shes the best thing in the world... Once she caught on, i could leave her in my house and put a baby gate up for downstairs... and im gone for hours and has absolutly no accidents!! and she knows now that inside the house is a definate no no.... using a litter box probably confuses her because 1)they're made for cats... and 2) even though its a litter box it is still inside the house.. she may not quite get the concept.. but outside they'll also always have their last scent to smell to remember oh yeah going potty out here i get rewarded... she'll eventually get it, just ditch the litter box.

Oh.. AND when she does go potty in the house.. make sure you clean it very very well with special animal stain remover... because then it will completly get rid of the smell so they cant smell it anymore, because when they smell the last spot they pottied, they more then likely will go around the same area!

Why don't you train the dog to eliminate outside, instead of a litter box?

add:  If you or your mother don't have time to housetrain the dog, take her back to your aunt before it goes any further.  Dogs don't just "stop" urinating in the house because you want them to, it takes months to train them to the point they will not go in the house.

Keep her on a short leash by you at all times or in he kennel. If you can take her outside to potty. Always take her to the same spot and say potty or any other word you want to use. Stay there for as long as it take to get her to go.

If she puddles in the house. Wipe it up with a paper towel. Take her and the soiled paper towel out to the spot you take her to potty or the litter box. Lay down the soiled towel and let her sniff it. This get her to potty in the right place.

Always remember potty after play,sleep, 10 minutes after eating.

Most of all do not get angry at her and always praise her when she goes.
