  2. as daniel said, in costa rica we all of us, all the citizens (more than 18 years old)... vote to choose the president. this way is called "direct democracy", that means that our votes are counted one by one and the total of those votes choose the president. it's similar in the majorty of latin-american countrys.

  4. Hi.  Costa Rica is a Democratic country with direct representation (that means, one person, one vote).  Every 4 years, there is an election in which all citizens above 18 yrs of age can vote for the presidential candidate of their choice.  The candidate with the most votes wins the election.
