i have to do a project on the chemical basis of an industry. I chose the cleaning Industry. here is one of the questions i have to answer but I'm not really understanding what they mean?!

Identify chemical reactions upon which the industry relies.

  1. well if its a cleaner of some type, explain the reaction that takes place to remove, uplift...take out the stain, grease, etc...

    ie- dawn dish detergent "cuts the grease"

    Help?
