I have this assignment in Fine Arts class: New experience assignment. There are many given experience and I chose : Listen to a record of a different style of music than you generallly listen to. I chose classical music.

I need to write 3 paragraphs:

1st:introduction

2nd:body of paper

3rd:conclusion

I already knew something to write ( instruments, composers, songs, ), can you please give me some ideas or suggestions?

I have no idea what I should write in each paragraph. What should I write in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd paragraph ?

What do think about classical?

(I don't know English very well)

  1. Introduction - write about what you aimed to do, what you did. Why you chose it etc.

Body of paper - the body of the paper! This is where you'd write about how you felt about the music, whether you liked it or not and like you said possibly about the instruments, composers and songs. As you probably know, the majority of the essay should be here.

Conclusion -  Talk about your 'new experience' and say how/if it has affected you or made you think differently about classical music. In a way, sum up your findings.

  2. Well, first of all, since you've chosen classical music, you will have to pick something in that genre to study. I would choose a famous opera (like Madama Butterfly) or famous song (like Pavarotti singing Santa Lucia). Since English isn't your primary language, you could even pick a classical piece in your native language. Once you have your chosen piece of work, listen to it, and then study it. Research everything you can about the artist, the composer, the lyrics, etc. Find out why it was written and who it was written for and how was it received by the audience at the time. Then listen to it again. Then for your introduction, you can write something like "I normally listen to ___ music, so for this new experience assignment, I chose a classical piece, ___. I was really blown away!" (or if you hated it, say that). For the body, write down what you felt and thought when you first heard the music. Then summarize what you found out about it. Maybe something that surprised you in a positive or even negative way. Then describe what you felt when you listened again after doing the research. Tie the conclusion in with the introduction, something like: "At first I wasn't sure if I would like this music. But I gave it a chance and I'm glad I did." (or the opposite if you didn't like it - just be honest!) Good luck :)

  3. basically, you begin on what is classical music and some famous people who are involved in it. you can also add some other facts such as when and where it originated and what is distinctive to it among other types of music.

on your body, you need to discuss the good and bad points or factors or elements of classical music. in here, you can present your own opinion (but try not to put too much). you need to weigh or balance the information you are going to present.

on the conclusion, however, it is where you present your "final" generalization on the topic. it is like answering the question, "So is classical music good, or bad? Is it boring or equally lovely to the ears?" and so on and so forth.

if you do not know the language that much, it will never be a shame to ask for someone's help, won't it? and there is still the dictionary to consult.
