  1. Well all you need to do is find the length of the line between the two points which is of course the distance formula.

    d (distance between the points) = square root(sr) of (x1-x2) squared + (y1-y2) squared(sq)

    For the first question.

    x1=-3, x2=0 y1=6 y2=2

    d= sr of (-3-0)sq + (6-2)sq

    d= sr of 9  + 16

    d= sr of 25

    d= 5

    So the distance between D and F is 5 units.

    For the second question.

    x1=-2, x2=5, y1=4 y2=5.

    d= sr of (-2-5)sq + (4-5)sq

    d= sr of -7sq + -1sq

    d= sr of 49 + 1

    d=sr of 50

    By using surds

    sr of 50 becomes 5 root(radical) 2 which is the length between G and H
