I have an assignment and my task is to come up with a new soap opera, aimed at a youth audience.

This new soap opera has to challenge the dominant culture story lines and characters

Any cool ideas for a different and interesting soap opera?

look at shows like ugly betty for inspiration: a highly unfashionable, not-size-00, brace-face four-eyed short slightly overweight woman ends up working at the top fashion magazine.

stuff that goes against stereotypes. like... make a smart blonde or an asian with a life or ... an indian person w/out a parent who works at the 7/11 and has an accent.
