this my first time margin an its hella confussing!

this is my layout

i finally got the div part right,i just need the margin help now!

    As i see it, your division appears to be overlapping some of the text, in this case its pointless to use margin to solve the problem, since your division is positioned absolutely.

    I'm guessing you want the division to appear inside the blue background image, i would suggest cutting the image into multiple parts, and then use this border technique to make the box scratchable. http://www.brugbart.com/Examples/Bordert...

    But you could also go with the fixed pixel based layout, and in such a case you may want to consider placing the image as a background on a division element with "position: relative;" applied to it, because this will anable absolute positioning inside the element, and make things a lot easier.
