I have just bought 2 black khuli loaches and a synodontis. In my tank (juwel rio 125) i have got 2 plecos, 1 big (1ft) and the other small, 2 parrot cichlids, 2 blue loaches, 3 boesmani rainbow fish and 2 blue rainbow fish.

My problem is that the parrot cichlids are picking on the synodontis (the label said upsiedown catfish) and the synodontis is picking on the blue loaches. What do you think i should do ? Are my fish in danger ?

Please help!

  1. That really depends.  How long have they been in the tank together?  I got an oscar cichlid 3 days ago, and my parrots picked on him the first day, but now there used to him and leave each other alone.  I've also heard that you shouldn't have upside down catfish with slow moving fish like parrots because they will stick to them and suck the slime coat off of them at night while they are resting, so it may be a good idea to put him in his own tank, or give him back to the store.

  2. unfortunatly yes if any fishg are "picking" on other fish they will more likly kill them try putting them in different tanks - hope this helps :)
