Some of the sanding disks for the machine that I'm using have cloth on the back that lets me stick them right on, but others just have cardboard on the back and I don't know how to use them with the machine. Please help!

  1. this is called a hook and loop system on the clothe like lined ones...If the disc on your sander has the little ribbed black pad on it it is capable of taking the cloth backed ones..if it doesnt it takes the "peel and stick" the cardboard backed ones peel off exposing a sticky coating...If the sander has the hook and loop pad on it already..do not use the adheisive ones on it ..they will not work..if this sander is brand new..then it may have both options..the hook and loop one will have the pad black looking with a peel off sheet on it too..you peel it off and stick it on the sander one time only..then the loops will stick to it..from there on out..if you prefer the adheisive ones..then the pad is ready to go if the hook and loop system isnt on it..

  2. They may have a" peal and stick" backing, remove paper backing,if so there also should be a smooth sanding pad for the machine that you can change out , see if I'm right. the correct name for the cloth ones are" hook and loop"sanding discs
