Question:

Please help me with my skin allergy?

Okay, I believe it's a skin allergy, went to the docs and I've been on the meds and using the cream he gave me, but it's not much use.

It's been around a week or so, and my allergy really really worsened over the past 2 days.

I thought it was hives, but I doubt it now. They don't clump together in clusters (although all of them are on my legs) and basically they just appear as very angry, big red bumps like an agitated mozzie bite, and stays there. Even when the swelling has sort of reduced, the redness remains, and it's really itchy.

Just imagine constantly agitated mozzie bites with diameter 1cm to 7cm. Sometimes they even grow bigger, but they don't disappear, unlike hives, which emerge and disappear after awhile. Please help, I'm going to a doctor really soon.

WHAT IS IT AND WHAT DO I DO? (besides see the doctor again)

  1. Hi,

I work with a wellness company so I am going to try to offer some suggestions here.  Antihistamines and other over the counter or Rx's may temporarily relieve your allergy which would be great but you should try to find out the source of your allergies to cure or eliminate them in the future instead of treating the symptoms when they flare up.

Laundry soap, bath soap, moisturizers... just to name a few can be a real irritant to the skin.  Phosphates, Chlorine bleach, formaldehyde and other harsh chemicals are present in personal care products and household cleaners.  Not only can these chemicals cause cancer in the long run but most have an immediate negative affect on our skin as well.  Have you introduced a new detergent, soap, etc in your home, etc.  Tide and Dreft usually cause the most irritants.

Keep a diary of when you get these outbreaks.  If this is your first time start with a diary now so you will be better equipped next time.

We have many customers that simply switch to a "green" product to be friendlier to our planet, save money... What these people did not realize is that their allergies, stuffy noses, body aches, rashes, etc get significantly better or clear up completely just by taking away the nasty chemicals in their home and on their laundry.

Best of luck to you...wish I had a quick cure to make you feel better!

  2. To try and relieve the itchiness pour a capful of pinetarsol into a bathful of warm water and soak in it. Good Luck!

  3. I can imagine - i've had the same thing for 11 months now.  Try antihistamines.

  4. I get the same thing and its an allergy. Mine is an allergy to cold but yours could be pressure, sweat, sunlight, water, etc. Zyrtec makes it stop. Are you in the 18-25 age group? It is quite common at this age and usually goes away when you get a bit older
