Please help me with my turtles

i have 4 RES and i keep the heating light on all night is that good for them ??

but i do see that they do sleep is it still good for me to keep the heating light on all night or not??

  1. No, you need to create a natural day/night cycle for them.  Heat lamps and UVB lights should be on for about 12 hours a day, and off 12 hours a day.  The water heater can be on all the time.  If your house gets unusually cold at night, use a ceramic heat emitter for extra warmth.

  3. thgy need to sleep like in the wild..bask all day sleep in the dark water, its less stressful on them. So leave the basking light on 8 to 10 hrs a day. Heaters should never go below 75 degrees.

    Make sure they have plenty of fish and leaft greens to grow ..

  4. With turtles you have to try to keep them somewhat how they would in be in the wild.  so keep your light on for 10 -12 hours in the day time and turn it off at night.
