He had a son with Cleopatra VII, named Caesarion who was killed by Caesar's nephew Octavian.

Some historians think he might have suffered from epilepsy.

He was stabbed to death (23 wounds) on the Ides of March (March 15). Only one of those wounds was the fatal one.
