Please help me with the antivirus XP 2008, i really need help.?

okay, well i am a sixteen year old girl, and i have NO IDEA what in the world to do, so talk to me as if i was 4.

.. i really do not get computers, i just use them for homework an AIM.

just help me get rid of it PLEASE.

i got it two nights ago, i just downloaded McAfee and whenever i click on websites to help me out with downloading a different antivirus thing, it doesnt work.

Unfortunately you've just picked up one of the hardest to get rid of malware programs I've ever encountered. For someone of your technical background you either need to take it to a technician or repair man, or just back up all your documents and re-install windows with your recovery discs.

Oh my God! That virus is so annoying! You should delete, remove and destroy is as soon as possible. I posted a question similar to this one a few weeks ago and the lovely men who answered gave me a great site to go on to get rid of this virus. You need to download a program called MalwareBytes because that searces your entire computer, finds the virus and completely destroys it.

Click the green 'download now' button (don't worry - this is free) and once you've downloaded it, got the updates and done a system sweep which takes a long time but it's worth it, you should be fine. It also solves the desktop, wallpaper and screensaver hijack, too. (Don't worry, I'm computer and software illiterate too! I wonder if it's a girl thing?)

hey. i just got antivirus xp 2008 on my computer today. and i am 16 too lol, anyways, you can remove it with command prompt on your computer. this guy is gonna tell me how to do it on command prompt and if it works, ill e-mail you step by step what to do :)

my school is gonna start and i really need the computer. i am afraid to type any of my passwords on that computer. ( i am on my dad's laptop rightnow)

try any of the free anti-virus programs like AVG antivirus. You can google them under anti virus freeware. Try "snapfiles" to find anti-virus freeware (freeware means it's free to download and use). You can also check "best freeware". A good program for checking for infections is "spybot search and destroy" Another is "Advanced Windows Care" which cleans up your clutter and fixes problems. But a program like AVG keeps you from getting infected in the first place. The thing about an anti- virus program is that you can only use one at a time or else there is a conflict and it doesn't work. Also always keep your virus definitions updated.  Good Luck ! P.S. You can try to do a system restore to a point of time before you got the virus. System restore is in the start menu under all programs->accessories->system tools-> system restore

let it install on your computer, once it install run a scan to remove it, the go here if the computer still acts up, as you may need deeper remover tools.
